Project description
The project uses the Normalised Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) used in precision agriculture to determine the general condition of the crop. NDVI values range from 0 to 1, and although extreme values are well interpreted by farmers as a sign of crop problems (lack or excess of water or nutrients), intermediate values during the growth stage are not used due to their difficulty of interpretation although they can reveal important information on crop development.
The main objective of the project is to expand the intermediate NDVI values corresponding to the growth stage of a crop and to provide a scale according to the phenological stage of the crop in order to help farmers assess growth development, anticipate hidden problems and forecast harvest dates based on historical Sentinel-2 satellite data.
These realisations will be carried out using Artificial Intelligence (AI).
